I believe that through our early experiences and relationships, we develop ways to cope/navigate/survive to the best of our abilities at the time, although sometimes these protective ways we learned to navigate our relationships and environments are no longer serving us in our current circumstances/desires/goals/values. With a deeply relational approach, I hope the therapeutic relationship develops enough safety and trust where we can truly dig in and strive for the desired growth. My theoretical underpinnings are from a psychodynamic, attachment, humanistic, trauma, anti-racist, queer and feminist lens. In addition to these theories and related approaches, I use various techniques and interventions from different modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Polyvagal Theory, Narrative Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I center on trauma-informed and strengths-based approaches, including identifying and highlighting individuals inherent and learned strengths that can continue to expand. I believe the therapeutic process also necessitates exploring the impact of power and oppression on individuals and communities, including in the therapeutic relationship. I'm committed to providing identity-affirming care and feel honored when able to join someone on their journey of healing, empowerment and exploration.  For joy I love nurturing house plants, eating ice cream, reading non-fiction, being with loved ones and nerding out about music. For professional and educational background, I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC I). I received a Master of Social Work and a Master of Education in Human Sexuality Studies from Widener University in Chester, Pennsylvania. I obtained a Bachelor of Art in Psychology with a minor in Human Sexuality Studies from San Francisco State University, including one year of studying gender and sexuality abroad at the University of Amsterdam.
